In the year 1980, 28th National Film Awards were held by Directorate of Film Festivals, the organization which has been set up by Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, India.

The 26th National Film Awards are presented by the Directorate of Film Festival and the organization is set up by the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting, India to focus on the best of the Indian Cinema released in the year 1978. The 25th National Film Awards were presented by the Directorate of Film Festivals in the city of New Delhi, India. The Ministry of Information and Broadcasting set up this organization. This ceremony was divided into two groups - non-feature and feature films. Kanan Devi honoured by Lifetime Achievement Award is known as Dadasaheb Phalke Award for Actress. National film awards are given by the Directorate of Film Festivals, which comes under the ambit of the Ministry of Information and Broadcasting. The 47th Filmfare Award event was held on February 16, 2002, in Mumbai.
