Utpalendu Chakrabarty is an Indian director who worked for the Bengali film industry. He was born in 1948 in Calcutta and graduated from Scottish Church College, University of Calcutta. Utpalendu as a director worked in movies, television films, documentaries, and also worked as a music director, composer, and writer. Some movies and television films in which he worked are Maina Tadanta in 1980, Chandaneer in 1989, Phaansi in 1988, Chua Chandan, May Day in 2005, Aparichita in 1986, Sonar Chheye Dami in 1989, and many others.
He also worked in some documentaries like Mukti Chai in 1977, The Music of
Satyajit Ray
