Born on 5th August 1974, Kajol was the heartthrob of Indians during her peak. Her main region of interest is Hindi cinema. Out of the eleven nominations Kajol had got 6 Filmfare awards. In fact, she has a record of winning Best Actress Filmfare Award 5 times in her career. This is matched only by her aunt Nutan. She is also the proud recipient of Padmashree award.

Her first film was Bekhudi which was released during the year 1992. She didn’t even complete schooling at that time. Acting was her passion and hence she called it quits to studying and took up acting. Her first hit was Baazigar which was released during the year 1993. Later, her films with Shahrukh Khan became huge hits and they were considered to be the best couple onscreen.

Kajol became the darling of the masses with great hits to her credit, including Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge, , Kuch Kuch Hota Hai and Kabhi Kushi Kabhi Gham. Dilwale Dulhaniya Le Jayenge is one of the greatest films of India. Her roles in Gupt and Dushman earned her many accolades and she was seen in a different avatar in these films. After she took a break from films in 2001 Kajol re-entered the industry with the film Fanaa opposite . Later, she acted in a couple of films.

Apart from acting, Kajol is also involved in social activities. She is mainly known for her work for children and widows. This philanthropic work earned her the Karmaveer Puraskar award in 2008. She was a judge in a reality show of a TV channel. She is also a manager of Devgan Entertainment and Software.

On the personal front, Kajol is married to her long-time beau in 1999. They are blessed with two children. Kajol is the daughter of yesteryear actress Tanuja. Needless to say, Kajol is one of the eminent stars of Indian cinema.
