Saroj Khan

Born with an inborn talent, Saroj Khan is one of the most well-known and eminent choreography in the Indian film Industry. She has produced many pieces of good work for around 2000 films. Talking about her earlier days, she along with her family migrated to India right after the partition. Her family was one among the orthodox one, but she turned out to be a freak. She started her career at a very tender age of 3 with the film Nazrana and also a background dancer. B. Sohanlal was her mentor and trained her very well.

Later she shifted to choreography, first as an assistant choreographer and later getting her break as an independent choreographer, with GeetaMeraNaam (1974). With her, Khan choreographed TammaTamma, Ek do teen and Dhakdhakkarnelaga to name a few. After many years, in 2014, she worked with Madhuri in Gulab Gang.

Talking about her television career, she was in the jury of judges for the show NachBaliye on star one. The subsequent season also had her excellence. She also judged UstaadokaUstaad on Sony Entertainment Television.

She has been one of the judges for every prominent TV dance show. In 2012, The Saroj Khan Story, a documentary produced by PSBT and Films Division of India and directed by NidhiTuli was released. She won the Filmfare Award for a lot of good performances like in Guru, Devdas, Khalnayak, Chaalbaaz, and more. In the year 2002, she won the American Choreography Award for outstanding achievement for the film Lagaan. She has made a lot of contributions to Bollywood with several beautiful choreographies.
