Plot
Mahendra is a failed cricketer and Mahima is a doctor. They are united as husband and wife by arranged marriage. Both have some issues in their career. Soon, they find out their common interest and Mahendra finds out that his wife has a talent in cricket. Being a cricketer, he decides to coach his wife and help her to enter the National Cricket Team for Women. Was he able to make it? The rest of the film follows that.
Star Performance
Rajkummar Rao excels as a failed cricketer, who aims to make his wife a cricketer. His emotions are fantastic and his body language and dialogue delivery prove the audiences once again that he is a versatile actor. Janhvi has shaped her talents very well. Her transformation from a low-confident doctor to a person, who finds out her real talent, is appreciable. The rest of the cast have done justice to the given roles.
Analysis
Unlike the usual sports dramas, Mr & Mrs Mahi comes up with a unique subject. A failed cricketer coaching his talented wife is shown well with impactful scenes and sharp narration. The characters are designed well and the stars fit well in the roles. The casting team should be appreciated for bringing in the right actors to the cast. Most of the coaches or the people behind the success of the celebs had never received the proper recognition. This film has highlighted it and showcased the coach’s effort to make his cricketer wife achieve a good position. The visuals and editing are up to the mark. The songs are okay and the BGM is fantastic.
