Salman Khan is a very famous Indian actor and a producer. He was born as Abdul Rashid Salim Salman Khan on December 27, 1965 at Indore, Madhya Pradesh, India. Salman is referred to as one of the most successful actors in Bollywood. His father is Salim Khan who is also an actor and a screenwriter while his mother is Sushila Charak (Salma Khan). He graduated from St. Stanislaus High School in Mumbai. Prior to this, he went to Scindia School, Gwalior together with his brother, Arbaaz Khan. He also studied at Elphinstone College.

Salman started his acting career in year 1988 through the Hindi film, ‘Biwi Ho To Aisi’, where he played as the younger brother of Farooq Sheikh, followed by a breakthrough performance in his first leading role in the musical romantic film, ‘ Maine Pyar Kiya’ in 1989. Later on, he established himself in the Bollywood cinema during the 90’s with roles in various leading production houses. Some of his remarkable films include ‘Hum Aapke Hain Koun..!’, ‘ Karan Arjun’, ‘Biwi No.1’ and ‘Hum Saath-Saath Hain’. In 1998, he received the Best Supporting Actor Award at the Filmfare for his brilliant performance in Karan Johar’s coming-of-age romantic drama film, ‘ Kuch Kuch Hota Hai’. Salman received some rejection during the 2000’s, but in year 2010, the actor became very famous after portraying lead role in various action films like ‘ Dabangg’, ‘ Bodyguard’, ‘ Ek Tha Tiger’ and ‘ Kick’. Eight of Salman’s films gained gross earnings of more than ₹1-Billion or $16-Million and he was starred in top grossing Bollywood films for nine years.

Besides acting, Salman is also a stage actor and humanitarian. He is the founder of a charity organization called, Being Human.

In year 2011, the actor started his own production house, the SKBH (Salman Khan Being Human Productions). The money that he got from the film productions were donated to his foundation, Being Human. SKBH banner’s first film production was entitled, ‘ Chillar Party’. This mvoie won three National Awards; one for Best Children’s Film, another one for Best Original Screenplay and Child Artist’s Award. SKBH’s next film was the remake of the Marathi film, ‘Shikshanachya Aaicha Gho’. In 2014, Salman launched the SKF (Salman Khan Films) Production House. SKF first produced film was the Canadian film entitled ‘Dr. Cabbie’. This film earned $350,452 on its first day and became the 2nd highest grossing film in Canada. SKF next film was entitled ‘ Hero’ with Suraj Pancholi and Athiya Shetty, followed by ‘ Bajrangi Bhaijaan’ which stars Salman Khan himself and Kareena Kapoor Khan.

Salman became popular in anchoring shows as well. He hosted shows like ‘10 Ka Dum’, ‘ Bigg Boss Season 4’, ‘ Bigg Boss Season 5’, ‘ Bigg Boss Season 6’, ‘ Bigg Boss Season 7’, and ‘ Bigg Boss Season 8’.
