Very few people know that her real name is ‘Irtiza Rubab’ but she is well known for her stage name ‘Meera’. She was born on 12 May 1977 at Sheikhupura, Punjab, Pakistan. She did her all education in Lahore. Before joining the Pakistani films, Meera started her career as a stage actress and a model in a very young age. But later she joined Pakistani films and dramas. The debut movie of this actress came in 1995 but earned nationwide critical acclaim in 1999 when she performed a lead role in the movie “Khilona” (1996-97). Because of her talent in “khilona” movie she won her first ‘Nigar Award’ and her work was praised by the people. She won second consecutive ‘Nigar Award for The Best Actress of the year’ for her performance in Inteha movie, another critical and commercial success.
