Plot
Murli has a long-time dream to win gold at the Olympics for his nation, India.
Dara Singh

is his inspiration in the field of wrestling, and Murli starts his training at a young age in his village. He learns the tricks in wrestling by watching others play. Without any formal training, Murli lands on a stage and defeats a person who is also new to the stage. However, the newbie is a trained person. He also joins the Indian Army as a soldier. During the army training, he shifts to boxing after being inspired by Tiger Ali. In the Indo-Pak war, Murli is hit by nine bullets, making him paralyzed from the knee. Yet, he didn’t lose his confidence. He takes part in the Paralympics and wins a gold for India.
Star Performance
Kartik Aaryan has delivered a wonderful performance. This is his career-best so far. His physical transformation for the role is surprising. Vijay Raaz has delivered a good performance. Bhuvan Arora and Rajpal Yadav have given decent performances.
Analysis
While making a sports drama, whether it is a biographical film or a normal commercial one, all the eyes start comparing it to previous hit films. When Chak De India was released, people started comparing it to the previously released sports movies, which included Lagaan by

and Dangal are the latest inspirations with wonderful climax, and Chandu Champion is nothing short of those climaxes. Kabir Khan designed the climax in such a way to create Goosebumps. The film takes us back to the 70s. The production designer and his team should be appreciated for their wonderful work with the sets. Kabir Khan’s casting team should be appreciated for bringing talented actors to the cast. The visuals are impressive and the editing is decent. The BGM is impressive.

Verdict
Despite its shortcomings, the film has excellent performances and well-paced screenplay. The climax is shot well. However, please don’t visit the theaters with over expectations. The film is definitely watch-worthy!
