Plot: Massu is the renamed movie of Masss by Surya and Venkat Prabhu. Venkat Prabhu also took in charge of the ghost movie, as other directors. It has become a trend in Tamil film industry to take horror and ghost movies.

After the hit of Kanchana and Pisasu, all the Tamil directors jumped into the ground in search of horror stories. One such is Massu.

Massu has two Suryas. Surya has performed as the Mass and the Srilankan Tamil. Surya’s sharp dialogues and his body language are properly used by the director. Surya and Premji are the petty thieves in this film. Surya has showed the differentiation between the two characters. It is a spooky movie, yet has comedy, as there is Premji. As usual horror stories, this story also have a flashback with Surya. Venkat Prabhu usually keeps some twists and turns in his stories; the same T&T are there in this film too. First half moves in an interesting manner with the Masilamani Surya.

Venkat Prabhu has produced lots of rooms to show off the expressions and feelings. He has brought his troupe Vijay Vasanth, Arvind Akash and Jai in cameo roles as usual. This time he added Samuthra Kani and Parthiban to the special appearance and increased the star value of his film. With the predictable scenes, the second half of the film moves quietly. Is there Nayanthara in this movie??? She could have been utilized in the role in a better aspect and Venkat Prabhu missed that.

Massu is a good movie to watch with the family.
