Venkat Prabhu is a multifaceted and multitalented and multidimensional personality in the Tamil Film and Television Industry. He is an actor, director and singer who acts and directs Tamil television shows and movies. Venkat Prabhu, commonly known as Venky among his friends and colleagues, has also rendered his voice as a playback singer and also has several independent singing assignments and albums in his kitty. Before venturing into the glamour industry Venkat Parbhu was an active member of a popular young Music Band that was quite popular across the South India. Venkat Prabhu has also worked on few Malayali projects also. Born on November 7, 1975, to an affluent Tamil family in Chennai and UK, Venkat Prabhu belongs from a family with rich lineage and the legendary music director Illyaraja is his own uncle.  Is father, brother, sister and other cousins are also prominent figures in the Tamil Entertainment Industry. After completing his education from Chennai, he started his career with direction but his first three projects failed to release and then he started taking up the character roles in Tamil movies and serials. After sometime, he again got a breakthrough and his directorial venture released and gained much popularity.

Venkat Prabhu is married to Raaji, they have a daughter named Shivani. Coming to his television career, Venkat Parbhu, he own many accolades by acting in a supporting character role in Sun TV‘s popular Tamil serial Kundakka Mandakka. He also acted in another Tamil tele serial called Thedathey Tholaindhu and also hosted a couple of musical reality shows and also hosted a travel show in Tamil specifically made for the Tamil television audiences. Venkat Prabhu has also launched his own personal website and is busy these days with the work of his latest directorial venture.  He has won many awards for his work and contributions till date in the Tamil film and television industry.

Director Dharani, the popular South Indian director is one of those directors who contributed in making the world of south Indian cinema, a commercial movie industry that it is famed for today. He is popular for churning out massive mass entertainers that the Telugu and Tamil film audiences usually love to watch. His first ever film though, wasn’t a regular commercial film but was the offbeat, Ethirum Pudhirum based on the life story of Veerappan, the forest brigand. A Tamil film, it starred Mammootty and was highly acclaimed. After this film, Dharani was instantly a popular director and went on to make some successful movies in Tamil as well as Telugu. Dhill(starring Vikram), Dhool (another Vikram starrer), Kuruvi (starring Vijay and Trisha Krishnan), Osthe (a Tamil remake of Dabangg), all starring big-time stars like Silambarasan, Vikram and Vijay and all commercial films with loads of entertainment went on to become massive hits with huge openings. He’s also directed a few films in Telugu, some of them being Bangaram starring Pawan Kalyan, Veede starring Raviteja and Sreeram starring Uday Kiran. They all did reasonably well at the box office. Although he started off his career in the year 1999, until very recently, Dharani has been making some really big movies. He hasn’t directed any movies since a few years after his last release in the year 2011 but will very soon make a comeback. Another Version Dharani is an Indian cinema director. His main genre of directing in movies is action-masala films. His debut movie in which he worked as a director was  Ethirum Pudhirum. Ethirum Pudhirum was based on Veerappan and his brother's death Mammootty. It was released in 1999 and was delayed because of some financial constraints. The movie was successful at the box office and won critic's hearts. Also, the movie was awarded the second place in Tamil Nadu State Film Award for Best Film.  He next directed Vikram, Dhil in which he was made the director by the producer Purna Chandra Rao. This movie became a hit at the theatres. His next movie,  Dhool, produced by M. Rathnam along Jyotika in 2003 was a blockbuster hit. His movie Kuruvi, complete 150 days at the cinema and gained positive reviews from critics. In 2011, he remade the movie Dabbang, a Hindi blockbuster film in Tamil as Osthe.

Praveen Gandhi

Praveen Gandhi is a brilliant Indian actor and film director who have made many big budget Tamil films such as Ratchagan in year 1997; the romantic musical film, Jodi in 1999 and another action film, Star in 2001.  His directorial journey started when producer, K. T. Kunjumon of Ratchagan noted him as a young talented man who has full of ideas and strives to work hard. Ratchagan was launched on January 1996 but it was filmed in January 1997. The casts include Nagarjuna, A.R Rahman and Miss Universe winner, Sushmita Sen. It was filmed around India including places like Goa, Delhi, Rajasthan, Mumbai and Manali. Kunjumon claims that the film will become India’s most expensive production. However, it received mixed reviews and failed to make it to a box office success.    Praveen came back in year 1999 through the romantic drama film, Jodi which also feature actress, Simran and Prashanth. The film was first released and was titled as Praveenkanth, Praveen’s real name and later he was known as Praveen Gandhi. He also appeared in a cameo role in the said film and portrayed the role of a deserting youngster, assisting the role of Prakanth. When the film was opened, it received positive reviews and made it to become a box office success, which led him to work in another film venture with the same casts in the Tamil action film, Star in 2001. But it failed to make reach the same success that Jodi received. Praveen played a supporting role in the film and he gained negative reviews for his direction and acting.  In year 2003, he started working in the Tamil film, Thullal where he played the main lead role. This film was delayed and eventually released in year 2007. He received poor reviews and the critic labeled the film as ‘torture’. But despite his constant failure in the recent films he has done, he later announced two more films on his credit entitled, Muktha and the film, Vilasam TN 03 6999. But both films were never release nor completed. He also planned to make the film, Adayalam, which stars Ragini, but it didn’t happen.  After some time of hibernation, in year 2014, Praveen directed the Tamil film, Puli Paarvai which is based on the life of Balachandran Prabhakaran who headed the Liberation Tigers of Tamil Ealam movement and the son of Velupillai Prabhakaran. The film also tackles his journey and how he was captured and murdered. Praveen took some time on researching about the film and he even went to Srilanka to take a look on the landscape, culture, the climate there and the people including their dialect.
