This upcoming comedy flick, directed by Anand Balki is sure to leave its audience laugh-cry with its hilarious script and plot line. The reason for this; this latest belly-tickler is a remake of the side-splitting 1964 movie of the same name. As the title suggests, the plot follows the life of a poor man with a dream to become an actor, only to realize that isn't so easy and ends up with a job as a waiter. He consequently falls in love with the owner's daughter, who he thinks would reciprocate his feelings once he becomes an actor. Eventually, his dream of becoming an actor is realized, but the daughter still doesn't love him. What will happen next can only be seen in the movie.
Although the plot line is very similar to the 1964 film, there might be some changes in keeping with the times. Tamil cinema's award winning comedian N Santhanam (Oru Kal Oru Kannadi, Boss Engira Bhaskaran, etc.) will play the role of the waiter, as the main protagonist. Although his previous performances suggest he could flawlessly pull off this comedic role, he had to train for months with a five-star restaurant to get truly into character, before shooting his scenes. Additionally, Vaibhavi Shandilya will be seen essaying the role of the owner's daughter, which seems befitting her charming personality and beauty. Actor Bijesh will also be seen playing a crucial role in the film.
Santhosh Narayanan, who made his musical debut with the movie Attakathi in 2012, is composing the soundtrack for this film, while J. Selvakumar is producing the flick (he is also producing the upcoming movie Oru Naal Koothu). With so much effort into the production, the film will surely hit the box office hard.
