Plot
Manickam belongs to a lower-middleclass family. He is a lottery ticket seller in a small town. Manickam’s daughter is speech-impaired. An elderly man buys a lottery ticket for credit in Manickam’s shop, for which Rs 1.5 crore is offered. He finds out the true colors of the people at the elder man’s house, when Manickam went to their house to inform them about the jackpot. What happened next? The rest of the film speaks about the human nature and respect for the relationship.
Star Performance
Samuthirakani excels in the role of Manickam. He gives a measured performance and doesn’t go over the top. Ananya is decent in her role as Samuthirakani’s wife and Bharathiraja is impressive as a forgetful elderly person.
Analysis
Thiru Manickam’s sequences may be a bit new, but the base story is old, which speaks about the relationship, humanity, etc. Some characters like forgetful natured elder and the speech-impaired girl seems to be forced to pull the audience into the story and make them emotional. However, those characters didn’t create the impact they expected, but make the audience feel that they are usual. The backstory of Manickam didn’t add depth to the plot, instead make us to predict the rest easily. The cinematography is decent with its beautiful lush green captures. The editing should have been better.

The film has a few good performance. Except for the performance, nothing is much impressive in the film. You can try it once, if you are interested in watching family stories.
