A versatile singer, Tanvi Shah is a playback singer who has sung songs in languages like Hindi, Telugu, Tamil, Portuguese, Arabic, and Latin. She made her debut in playback singing with the song '
Fanaa' for the movie Yuva, which released in 2004. Ever since then, she has had a collaboration with the Oscar-winning singer A.R Rahman, and she has sung several songs for him.
Yuvan Shankar Raja and other leading music directors invited Tanvi after her success with A.R Rahman reached the public eye. She wrote the Spanish lyrics for the ever popular song of
Slumdog Millionaire -
Jai Ho. At the 52nd Grammy Awards, she won a Grammy Award for Best Song Written For Visual Media, which she shared with Rahman and Gulzar.
She was also featured in the Snoop Dog Millionaire song, by Snoop dog. She performed at a live concert in Chennai in 2011, and in Malaysia in 2012. In November 2013. She performed at the Coke Studio concert held at IIM Bangalore. Shah also has an international fan base, owing to her skills with several foreign languages.
