Demonte Colony has Arulnithi in the lead role. This is a good horror movie which is told differently by the director Ajay Gnanamuthu. Like the default horror movie, this movie also has lightening effects, haunted house, fiery streets and coiling flashback. The story begins with the friends visiting the haunted colony which is believed to be the place of ghosts and other souls. The spooky place is situated in the middle of the Chennai city.
As usual, the music director bangs with a horror sound while entering the gates of the mansion. Second half of the story is full of thrills and horror whereas the first half is interesting; but lags in horror effect. The story is rightly moved at the second half and the audiences are made to sit at the end of the chair. First half has little comedy with it by Ramesh Thilak, the RJ. With the spooky effects through the camera, the cinematographer makes the people to shiver. Raghava Lawrence’s Kanchana series reached the people well through its comedy cum horror.
But Demonte colony does not have the comedy effect, but still the director had put his complete efforts to make this film to reach the public. Arulnithi is trying different roles from his debut. And he succeeds in that. All his films are entirely different from one another. His hard work and the story selection should also be appreciated.
If there is some comedy scenes like Kanchana, it would have been liked by the kids too. In short Demonte Colony is a complete scary family entertainer without enough comedy.
