Pottu” is scripted and directed by “ V C Vadivudaiyan.” The film is produced by John Max. Bharath Srinivasan, “ Iniya,” Srushti Dange and Namitha are in the lead cast. “ Urvashi,” “Nirosha,” Sayaji Shinde, Naan Kadavul Rajendran,” Thambi Ramaiah, “ Swaminathan,” Mansoor Ali Khan, Actor Bharani, Nikesh Ram, “ Shakeela” and Antony Atlas are in the supporting cast. “Amrish” composes the music. “Enniyan J Harris” cranks the camera and Elisa edited the film.

Bharath is the son of Thambi Ramaiah and Urvashi, the funny parents. They pay a lump sum and get Bharath, admission to a Medical College. Bharath and his friend join the college and they befriend Srushti Dange. Bharath falls for Srushti and both start romancing soon. Meanwhile, Urvashi and Thambi Ramaiah become friend with Swaminathan and Rajendran, who come to rob their house. All on a sudden, Bharath is possessed by a ghost and it wants to take revenge on his college dean, Sayaji Shinde. Why did the spirit want to kill Sayaji? What happens to Bharath? Watch the film to get the answer.

Star Performance

Natural actress Urvashi had been made to perform a bit extra; the same goes with Thambi Ramaiah too. Namitha has performed well and Sayaji is okayish. Bharath has given a decent performance. Iniya has done her part well.

The film comes in the same genre as that of the Kanchana series and a lot of scenes including Bharath playing a lady, will definitely remind the audience about Sarathkumar and Raghava Lawrence. Right from the beginning, the film is loud but didn't give the horror experience. There is no comedy too. The music is not much impressive. Production and technical values lack quality.

What’s There?

  • Performance of Bharath, Iniya and Namitha are okayish

What’s Not There?

  • Senior stars like Urvashi is completely wasted
  • Many scenes resemble Kanchana series
  • Weak screenplay and execution

The film has nothing new from that of the usual horror-comedy films. Many scenes seem to have been a repetition of the previous hit films. Loud noise, over performance and illogical scenes make the audience lose their patience in the first half itself. Don’t feel much, if you miss this!
