Plot
Sarath falls madly in love with his childhood friend Shari. But Shari's dad’s was keen on marrying her off to someone from their community. Sarath leaves his love hanging without confessing it to Shari.
Shari's parents successfully arrange a groom for her which breaks Sarath.
Shari is heartbroken knowing that she cannot marry Sarath. Both have feelings for each other but they never conveyed it to each other due to family situations.
Sarath tries to attempt suicide on the railway track and Shari tries to attempt suicide at home. Did they survive to be with each other? What happens to them both is the rest of the story.
Star Performance
A humorous storyline calls in for humorous performances of the cast. Varsha Bollamma looks elegant but the script offers nothing to her as a performer. Shravan Mukesh is a debut actor in the film. He did not really give justice to his role. Parvathi T, Mukesh, Sreenivasan, and Jacob Gregory were amazing in their touches of humor and performances.
Analysis
The storyline serves an old concept with new forms of spices added to it. The script could have had more depth, change, and character development. The performances of the actors were terrific except for the lead actor. The cinematography of the movie is good. The music in the film is enjoyable.

Verdict
Kalyanam movie very well serves the title “A cliché love story”. Better not than late.
