Psychologist by profession Parvathi is familiar to Malayalam viewers as their favorite television anchor. She established herself in the television industry through her unique personality, thoughts, fearlessness in expressing her views and her elegance. She started her television career in Doordarshan by anchoring the programme Ulkazcha. Later on she joined Asianet for the Morning programme Suprabatham with three others. It was a well-received programme with its uniqueness; which was a kind of news programme but very homely, with guests from different fields like art, politics, culture and science. She did many shows in other channels, like Surya TV, and Kairali TV but still feels that her show in Doordarshan was her best.

Before entering into the entertainment industry she worked as a Psychologist at Thiruvananthapuram Hospital where she had a relaxation clinic for pregnant women. She was a theater person and was an active member of Abhinaya Theater Research Centre, Thiruvananthapuram. She has acted in plays like Sagarakanyaka (Lady from the Sea), Bhagavadajjukam and The Lesson, of which, Sagarakanyaka was staged for the World Theater Festival 2012 in Brisbane. Her movie career began with ’s movie Time, in which she played the character of an activist. Her break through role came with director movie Neela Thamara where she featured as the middle aged Kuttimaalu, the central character. She appeared in many movies like Apoorvaragam, Pramani, Palerimankiyam, Bavoottiyude Namathil, Natholi Oru Cheriya Meenalla, Ohm Shanthi Oshana in character roles. She has acted in around 30 films till now and got the opportunity to work with some eminent directors like Ranjith, , Lal Jose, Shaji Kailas, VK Prakash etc.

She is also a great writer; her work Mayoorasandesham is a collection of Devi Krithis and another album Ponchilambu is set for release. She was a regular film reviewer for Malayala Manorama and also wrote regular columns in Mathrubhumi. She is also an activist in her own way and has strong beliefs about woman and their freedom and identity.

She has MPhil in Psychology and LLB from Kerala Law Academy College, Thiruvanathapuram. She is married to Satheesan, who works in C-DIT (Centre for Development of Imaging Technology) and has a son who is doing his graduation. She is currently working as a senior consultant in MSL group.
