His main breakout as a comedian was as the stock character Jaliyan Kanaran in the comedy reality show, Comedy Festival, which aired on the TV channel Mazhavil Manorama. He was born in Perumanna village, which is in the Kozhikode district in the southern Indian state of Kerala. He completed his primary education from Ganapathy Boys School, which is in Kozhikode
