Revathy S Varmha made her foray into filmmaking as an ad-filmmaker. She had directed more than 90 commercial advertisements in her peak career. She is a female filmmaker and had concepts of women-oriented themes for direction.

She directed a film ‘June R ‘in Tamil with leading actresses like ‘Jyothika’, ‘Kushboo’, and ‘ Saritha’ in the lead roles. The film had a theme based on the emotions of a girl longing for a motherly touch. The film had no takers as it had no commercial content. Hence actor ‘ Surya’ was roped in to play a cameo character and the film finally released with a poor response.

Revathy S Varmha wanted to make the same film into Hindi with a stellar cast of Ayesha Takia and other Bollywood stars. It was said the film would star Jaya Bachchan, Raveena Tandon, R. Madhavan in lead roles but the project remained only on paper and nothing came out in real. It was titled as 'Aap Ke Liye Hum', but is still being held up for unknown reasons.

Later she made a Malayalam language film ‘ Maad Dad’ which had screenplay, story, directed by herself. Initially, ‘ Mohanlal’ was the choice to play the male lead role but later on ‘ Lal’ was replaced to play the role. The film released in 2013. It is said she tried directing a Sinhalese film.

Before making her debut into film making, she was an acclaimed ad filmmaker. Vamsha began writing scripts at the age of 16 for advertisements and she was based in Delhi. She soon became a director of an advertisement company and directed advertisements for Nakshatra, Cadbury, Parker pens and other consumer end-product brands etc.

Srinath Ramalingam is a famous Sri Lankan born Tamil filmmaker. He was born in Sri Lanka in the year 1987. He grew up in Florida where he got graduated with a degree in Film and Digital Production at the Full Sail University. Srinath got interested in movies when he was studying in high school. In those days he used to take part in school plays and win a lot of competitions which encouraged him to take it to the next step. Many of his teachers and mentors from his college were a great help in the early stages of his career. They gave Ramalingam an opportunity to handle some of the departments of the Tamil Literary Association. In the year 2005, while he was still in his position he did a lot of short films in and around Columbia. His biggest victory was when he and his entire crew won one of the competitions held by the Royal College where they fetched the "Best Director" award and a couple of similar awards. After completing almost 25 stage plays and 12 short films, he decided to take his career to the next level- filmmaking. Though it seemed to be a hobby for the director since his childhood, he thought of making it a reality. As Srinath both negative and positive reviews equally about his decision he followed his heart and continued to do what seemed best for him. So he went to The United States to do a course on filmmaking. After returning, the director made his first music video Y.O.L.O which was an inspiring one and based on Lord Shiva. In the year 2015, Srinath made two films out of which one was a horror motion picture "Unakkenna Venum Sollu" starring newcomers and the other one was "Trapped in Abyss" which was his debut Hollywood movie and it was also entirely shot in California. Then came 'PPadi Kuppam Baalua' and after that "Laya" which is a light-hearted entertainer describing the story of a father narrating his story to his daughter about how he met her mother and fell in love with her. When he was asked in an interview on why all his films were the " thriller" ones he replied saying that he just loved the horror genre and moreover the people of this generation find horror flicks really amusing! Ramalingam's upcoming venture is named Mujahid, and the story is about a terrorist who is found guilty after attacking an important country and regrets for his deeds. It a complete suspense thriller movie which will keep the audiences on their feet.

RV Udhaya Kumar

RV Udhaya Kumar was born in Coimbatore, Tamil Nadu, India. He is a film director by profession and has been in the industry since 1988 and has directed more than 25 films. His father is ‘Venkatasamy’, and his mother is ‘Kannammal’. His family belongs to an agricultural background; he received his primary education from Arts and Science College of the government and did his B.Sc. from Coimbatore. RV Udhaya Kumar later joined the Madras Film University to earn a diploma in filmmaking and during his stay there he used to direct and produce films. He is not only a director but has also acted in many movies. RV Udhaya Kumar started his career as an assistant director in flicks like ‘Janani’, ‘Neram Vandhachu’, etc. In 1998, he made his directorial debut with ‘Urimai Geetham’, which is the story about the politician who becomes a CM and when the function is organized to celebrate his victory, he is assassinated, and the whole story revolves around finding the real assassinator. The movie received positive reviews from the critics and was loved by the audience. From the success of his first flick, he came up with the second movie,”Puthiya Vaanam” which is the story based on the reincarnation of a police officer who gets killed. His son follows in the footsteps of his father and joins the police to find the killer of his father. The picture did a good business at the box office and received great response from the audience and the critics appreciated the storyline and the plot. He continued to direct movies including ‘Urudhi Mozhi’, ‘Chinna Gounder’, ‘Ejamaan’, ‘Ponnumani’, etc. In 1994, RV Udhaya Kumar released ‘Rajakumaran’. The film could not do well at the box office, but the soundtrack created by Iaity Raja turned out to be a major hit. As an actor, RV Udhaya Kumar was part of the cast of Chinna Gounder, Ejamaan, Pasanga 2, Prabhu Sattai, Anjali, etc. Chinna Gounder released in 1992 portrayed RV Udhaya Kumar in a different role where he played a soft-spoken village chief which was very different from the larger than life characters that he used to play in other pictures. The movie was a grand hit at the theater. RV Udhaya Kumar worked with Superstar ‘Rajinikanth’ in the picture, “Ejamaan” and also worked with Kamal Hassan in ‘Singaravelan’. He directed his last flick in 2005, “Karka Kasadara” and since then hasn’t directed any movies. He also wrote songs for many movies including ‘Shree’, ‘Subash’, Ejamaan, etc.
