Srinath Ramalingam is a famous Sri Lankan born Tamil filmmaker. He was born in Sri Lanka in the year 1987. He grew up in Florida where he got graduated with a degree in Film and Digital Production at the Full Sail University. Srinath got interested in movies when he was studying in high school. In those days he used to take part in school plays and win a lot of competitions which encouraged him to take it to the next step. Many of his teachers and mentors from his college were a great help in the early stages of his career. They gave Ramalingam an opportunity to handle some of the departments of the Tamil Literary Association.

In the year 2005, while he was still in his position he did a lot of short films in and around Columbia. His biggest victory was when he and his entire crew won one of the competitions held by the Royal College where they fetched the "Best Director" award and a couple of similar awards. After completing almost 25 stage plays and 12 short films, he decided to take his career to the next level- filmmaking. Though it seemed to be a hobby for the director since his childhood, he thought of making it a reality.

As Srinath both negative and positive reviews equally about his decision he followed his heart and continued to do what seemed best for him. So he went to The United States to do a course on filmmaking. After returning, the director made his first music video Y.O.L.O which was an inspiring one and based on Lord Shiva. When he was asked in an interview on why all his films were the " thriller" ones he replied saying that he just loved the horror genre and moreover the people of this generation find horror flicks really amusing! Ramalingam's upcoming venture is named Mujahid, and the story is about a terrorist who is found guilty after attacking an important country and regrets for his deeds. It a complete suspense thriller movie which will keep the audiences on their feet.

R. Arvind or Arvind Ramalingam is a Tamil, film director. He studied in Coimbatore before he shifted to Chennai and had an internship with Prasad Labs. In 2009, he started his very own creative agency called TCC. From 2011-2013, TCC won the Best Independent Creative Agency in Chennai and from 2011-2012, it became the Second Best Independent Creative Agency in South India. He also started his own production house, the Creative Criminal, which mainly engaged in ad related videos and ad films. Arvind’s big break came when he got the opportunity to direct a music video for Boost, which features Prabhu Deva. Since then, he has directed several TVCs for popular brands like KFJ, VGN, and Akshaya. Because of this, Arvind already earned more than a hundred creative awards. In 2015, his debut feature film entitled Karma was released. This is the only Tamil film chosen for the Hollywood Sky Film Festival, who aims to promote the progression of the innovative cinema from the future filmmakers. Arvind never thought that his campaign to search for the cast of Karma would go viral. His production house, the Creative Criminals, has asked several candidates to send their pictures and videos. They shortlisted the aspiring talents and posted their photos on their Facebook page. The talent who gets the most “likes” will be selected. The campaign reaches 2,500,000 views and even attracted several brands that show interest to get associated with the said project. Classic Polo became their style partner, as well as the Sri Lankan Tourism, who became their travel partner. Aside from directing Karma, he also produced and acted in the film. In 2016, he earned a nomination at the Madrid Film Festival for Best Director of a Foreign Language Feature Film for his outstanding work in his debut film. Aside from that, this is the only Tamil film selected to be screened at the festival.


Revathy S Varmha

Revathy S Varmha made her foray into filmmaking as an ad-filmmaker. She had directed more than 90 commercial advertisements in her peak career. She is a female filmmaker and had concepts of women-oriented themes for direction. She directed a film ‘June R ‘in Tamil with leading actresses like ‘Jyothika’, ‘Kushboo’, and ‘Saritha’ in the lead roles. The film had a theme based on the emotions of a girl longing for a motherly touch. The film had no takers as it had no commercial content. Hence actor ‘Surya’ was roped in to play a cameo character and the film finally released with a poor response. Revathy S Varmha wanted to make the same film into Hindi with a stellar cast of Ayesha Takia and other Bollywood stars. It was said the film would star Jaya Bachchan, Raveena Tandon, R. Madhavan in lead roles but the project remained only on paper and nothing came out in real. It was titled as 'Aap Ke Liye Hum', but is still being held up for unknown reasons. Later she made a Malayalam language film ‘Maad Dad’ which had screenplay, story, directed by herself. Initially, ‘Mohanlal’ was the choice to play the male lead role but later on ‘Lal’ was replaced to play the role. The film released in 2013. It is said she tried directing a Sinhalese film. Before making her debut into film making, she was an acclaimed ad filmmaker. Vamsha began writing scripts at the age of 16 for advertisements and she was based in Delhi. She soon became a director of an advertisement company and directed advertisements for Nakshatra, Cadbury, Parker pens and other consumer end-product brands etc.
