Stephen Campbell Moore is an English film actor, who became popular for his portrayal in Alan Bennett’s The History Boys. He was born as Stephen Moore Thorpe on November 30, 1977, in London, England in the UK. He is mainly a screen actor, but he also performed as a stage actor at the Royal National Theatre and Royal Shakespeare Company (RSC). He created the character of Irwin in Alan Bennett’s The History Boys. He also played the role at the Broadway, Wellington, Hong Kong, and Sydney productions of The History Boys and its film version.

He earned a nomination at the Drama Desk Awards for his performance in The History Boys’ Broadway production in 2006. In the year 2004, Stephen was starred in Mike Barker’s drama film, A Good Woman, which is based on Oscar Wilde’s Lady Windermere’s Fan in 1892. In the same year, he played as Hugh Stanbury in the BBC adaptation of He Knew He Was Right, a novel by Anthony Trollope. In 2005, he starred and played as Edward VIII in the British made-for-TV movie, Wallis & Edward. He also appeared in one episode of the TV series, Lark Rise to Candleford, in 2008.

He had a regular role in the British police procedural drama series, Ashes to Ashes, on BBC One. In 2015, he portrayed the role of Viscount Hugh Trimingham in the adaptation of L.P. Hartley’s The Go-Between, which was aired on BBC. In the same year, he performed as Maurice Wilkins in the stage play, Photograph 51, where he earned positive reviews. Also in 2015, he was seen as Ed in the British-French romantic comedy film, Man Up.
