David Mark Morrissey is an English director, writer, actor and screenwriter. David was born in Kensington, Liverpool. He was born on June 21, 1964, to Joe and Joan. Joe was a cobbler, and Joan worked for Littlewoods. He was the fourth child and youngest of the all. As a child, he was always interested in Gene Kelly Musicals, television, and films. When he was 11 years old, his teacher Miss Keller encouraged him and cast him in a school production. Unfortunately, she left the school soon after. David did his secondary education at De La Salle School but had no drama classes there.
On his cousin's advice, he joined Everyman Young Theatre. Initially, he was shy but, later on, gained the momentum and appeared in a play Fighting Chance. At 16, he joined Wolverhampton theater company where he was working on costumes and sets. He didn't continue studies after he failed class 11th. He is known for his work in Framed, Holding On, Blackpool and Cape Wrath. He entered wedlock with novelist Esther Freud, who was his girlfriend for 13 years on August 12, 2006, in a ceremony. They have three children Anna, Albie, and Gene. His father in law was a painter.
He had been nominated for two Saturn Awards for the movie The Walking Dead where he had a supporting role. He has also won the Best Actor Award for Macbeth. He also owns a Film Production Company in Waterloo.
