Valerio Bonelli

Valerio Bonelli is a well-known Italian film editor. He was born on 8 January 1976 at Naples, Campania, Italy. He went to the National Film and Television School situated near London. After completing his study, he became an editor. He started his career as a film editor during the 1990s. He has done most of his works with the Director Stephen Frears. In 1997, he edited a short film called La Madre. He then edited another short film called ‘The Chessboard’. It was released in the year 1999. In 2001, he was the editor for the documentary special called ‘Dust’.

In 2002, he edited three short films including a documentary based short film called Memoires Incertaines. The other two movies were ‘Jealousy’ and ‘The Look of Happiness’. He was the editor for another two documentaries in 2003. They were a TV documentary short film called ‘This is a True Story’, and the other documentary was ‘Life on the Tracks’. His next project was a movie called ‘Breaking Out’. This short film was released in 2004. ‘The Importance of Being Elegant’ was a short TV documentary from 2004 that Valerio edited. He also edited the documentary, ‘Macau Sem Regresso’ released in 2004.

He has edited movies like ‘Red Means Go’, ‘Odessa… Odessa! Cracks’, ‘Incendiary’, ‘Hannibal Rising’ in 2007. He gained a lot of popularity from ‘Hannibal Rising’. In the year 2010, he became the editor of the movie, ‘Cemetery Junction’ and a short movie called ‘The Lost Explorer’. ‘Without Dorky’ (2011), ‘The Cold Light of the Day’ (2012), etc, are his other projects.
