Miikka Leskinen

Miikka Leskinen is one of the greatest filmmaker and film editors who have put his efforts into working across different films, television, and documentaries. He was born in Finland. The works he has produced as an editor have been widely appreciated and have been nominated for the Oscars, including 100 awards. He trained at a national film and television school, which made him produce great works. Miikka Leskinen is also a member of BAFTA and British Film Editors and is popularly known for British movies, and he is represented by the United Agents. His films, Editing skills, TV drama, and documentaries have won over 100 awards. He also worked with different filmmakers who won Oscars (such as Orlando von Einsidel, Joanna Natasegara, and Leonardo Di Caprio).

Also, he worked with leading production companies, namely Lucasfilm, Mammoth Screen, and Bad Wolf. The Productions he produced have been official at Cannes Film Festival, Berlin Film Festival, Venice Film Festival, and Sundance Film Festival. The movies produced by him screened at BBC, HBO, ITV, and Film4.ABC, Canal+, and on Disney+, Netflix, and Hulu. He has written many short films and, IN THE COLD DARK NIGHT is the documentary in which he worked as a co-director and editor on a Sky feature. He continues his work from London, but he works across all countries. Miikka Leskinen's documentary "IN THE COLD DARK NIGHT" was nominated for outstanding writing and the 42nd News and Documentaries Emmys 2021 and was nominated for Oglethorpe Award for Excellence in Georgia Cinema (Georgia Film Critics Association 2020).

His excellence won Best Editor (Singapore) -Asian academy creative awards 2018 for the movie THE TALWARS: BEHIND CLOSED DOORS, and was nominated for critique in the Best Edition (Asia). His film "THE WITCHING HOUR" won the rising star award at Canada International Film Festival 2016. The best short film which was edited by Leskinen, won Best Post Graduate Drama at the Royal Television Society Awards 2008. Miikka Leskinen is known for his great documentaries, and one of the best documentaries that gave him more than 50 international awards is VIRUNGA.

It was nominated for Best Documentary Oscar in the year of 2015 and nominated for BAFTA for Best Documentary in the year 2015. This documentary won many awards, including the Doc impact award in the year 2016, Peabody Award(2015), Best Cinematography by Cinema Eye Honors(2015), Best Documentary at the Little rock film festival (2015), and so on this documentary left a good mark in his career.
