Jaylan Aburto

Jaylan Aburto is a film editor and graphic designer with over five years of experience in the industry. He is known chiefly for projects like the short film Gh05tW1r3, The Pusher, Mirror, and the television series What Went Down.

Aburto pursued film studies at the Los Angeles Film School from 2012 to 2013. In 2013, he landed a job with Bellum Entertainment as an editor and continued working there for the next three years. In 2018, he worked as a freelance video editor with Jukin Media for about six months.

The following year, he worked as an editor for HowDee Productions. At the same time that he was working for several such media houses as an editor, he also busied himself with graphic designing, whereby he would create graphics and logos for companies in his local area.

After finishing his stint with HowDee Productions, Aburto became an editor at Entertainment Studios. He has experience of working with editing software like Adobe Premiere, Final Cut Pro X, and Avid Media, whereby he made music videos, short independent films, and promos, among other things.

He is also skilled in Adobe Photoshop, video editing, film production, post-production, Avid Technology products, storytelling, branded entertainment, digital images, sound effects, after effects, etc.  The editor possesses and is skilled at operating a Mac Pro with 3 screen monitor Editing and DSLR Canon 7D camera.

The editor from La Puente, California, is known for the science-fiction romantic short film Gh05tW1r3, helmed and scripted by Kyle Culver. The 2014 short, featuring Lindsay Ann Sutton, Kevin Dusinberre, and Tom Albanese, revolves around a hacker who unwillingly brings about a revolution.

His other notable work is the 2013 short film The Pusher, starring Aren Galuppo, Victor Boneva, and Jeffrey Quinn. Helmed and scripted by Justin Cunningham, the action-crime drama focuses on a drug pusher who makes every effort to escape from his current situation.

Aburto is also credited with film editing of the 2014 thriller short film Mirror, helmed and written by Nick Coppola. Starring Jeffry Druce, Debby Gerber, and Stefanie Wood, the short is about a young girl who is surprised to come across a mirror that foretells the future.

What Went Down is a 2014 comedy and sports television series featuring Pete Sepenuk and Lannan Eacott that witnessed Aburto serving as the editor. Created by Bellum Entertainment Group, the montage series showcases sports blunders, failures, and embarrassing results.
