Steve Hullfish is a reputed figure in film and video editing, best known for his work in Gravesend (2021-23), Spirit (2022), My Brother’s Keeper and many more. Born on 27th April 1963, in Washington, District of Columbia, USA, Hullfish’s journey towards the film world started quite early. Being in the industry for such a long time with his career spanning over decades, he has become not only an expert in his field since then he has also contributed to the arts and crafts in post-production and is a significant educator, helping the up-and-coming editors of the future. He completed his higher studies at SUNY Brockport with a minor in Bachelor of Science, Broadcast Communication /Journalism and a major in Broadcast Communications. Due to his immense passion and commitment to his work, Hullfish got his first job in the broadcast TV industry quite early on during his college days and started full-time by the end of college.
After completing his studies, he moved to Chicago in the year 1985 where he worked on various shows for Sports Channel and The Travel Channel. His knowledge of his craft has only increased since he first started which helped him in gaining in-depth knowledge of his craft and he established himself as a reputed editor by working on numerous projects including TV series, movies, documentaries, shot-films and many more. Over the years, Hullfish has written multiple books, 7 to be precise, incorporating all the knowledge that he has acquired over the years to pass on to the younger generation. Among all the books published by Hullfish, “Art Of The Cult”, published in 2017 is one of his most famous and admired works. The book contains all the experience he has gained over the years from around the world, containing the experiences of 50 editors from over 19 countries. “Art Of The Cult” has won over 12 Oscars, 40 Oscar Nominations and numerous Emmy Nominations.
