This film got released in 1994 with Venkatesh Daggubati and Soundarya Raghu in the lead roles. Daggubati Suresh Babu produced the film, which K Murali Mohan Rao directed. This is the direct Telugu film for Rahman.
This film was also released in 1994 with Dr. 'Rajasekhar,' "Nagma," Vani Vishwanath, and Krishnam Raju in the cast. "B Gopal" directed the film, and Subbarami Reddy produced the film. KS Chithra, "S P Baklasubrahmanyam," "Mano," "Minmini," "Swarnalatha," and Sujatha Mohan crooned the songs composed by AR Rahman.

"A M Rathnam" produced this film for his son, Jyothikrishna. Tarun Kumar, Shriya Saran and Trisha Krishnan played the lead roles. The film got released in 2003.
In 2004, Rahman composed the music for Naani, a film with Mahesh Babu, Ameesha Patel, and "Devayani" in the lead cast. Directed by SJ Surya, the film was produced by Manjula Ghattamaneni. The songs were super hit. It is the remake of the Tamil film, New, which had SJ Surya and "Simran" in the lead roles.
After a long gap of six years, AR Rahman entered the Telugu film industry in 2010 with Ye Maaya Chesave, directed by Gautham Menon. This film is simultaneously made in Tamil as Vinnaithaandi Varuvaaya, replacing Naga Chaitanya and Samantha Akkineni with "Silambarasan" and Trisha.
