Rajendra Prasad is a famous actor in Telugu. He is known for his comic roles. He was born on 19 July, 1956 in Nimmakuru. He was born to Venkata Narayana and Manikyamba. He completed diploma in Ceramic Engineering before entering film industry. He was awarded honorary degree by Andhra University. He came to film industry inspired by Sr.NTR. We can see Sr.NTR adoptions in many of Rajendra Prasad’s films. It is known that ex-Prime Minister, P.V.Narasimha Rao is huge fan of Rajendra Prasad. He is usually called as Nata Kiriti, Comedy king, Divine Comedian, etc., Rajendra Prasad started his film career with the movie Sneham directed by Bapu but he came to lime light with the film Ladies’ Tailor. He is known for his comic timing in his movies. He mainly did comic roles in his films. He has done 200 films nearly in 1980’s and 90’s. Among his films Ahana pellanta was a block buster. He did a lot of films with directors such as E.V.V.Sathyanarayana, Jandhyala, Narasimha Rao. They are known as hit combinations. He did nearly 32 films with the director Narasimha Rao which is a record in Tollywood. In early 2000’s he stopped his heroic roles and restarted his career as a character artist. He mainly acted in father, uncle roles in his second innings. His role in AA Naluguru bought him state Nandi award. His acting as middle class father bound to values has gained him critics’ appreciation. He won another state Nandi award for Yerra Mandaram movie. His performance in Quick Gun Murugan brought him an honour to walk on green carpet at IIFA film festival. He became talk of the town once again with MAA (movie artists’ association) elections in2015. He competed with JayaSudha and has won 237 votes of 394 polled votes.
