Born in South India on December 24, Daggubati Suresh Babu is a notable producer of South Indian film industry renowned mainly for producing Telugu films. Suresh Babu was the child of Rajeswari Daggubati and Dr. ‘D Ramanaidu’, Dada Saheb Phalke Award winner. He had two siblings-one brother and one sister. Suresh’s father was also a well-known producer of his time who passed away in the year 2015. Suresh’s younger brother, ‘Daggubati Venkatesh’, is also associated with the film industry and is an actor.

Suresh did his schooling from Don Bosco School located in Madras in India. He finished his PUC from Loyola College situated in Chennai in India. Suresh Babu moved to the United States to finish graduation from the University of Michigan, Detroit. He embarked his career journey with the film, “Devatha”, which released in the year 1982. But he started producing films with his own name in the year 1990 and the film was “Bobbili Raja”. Bobbili Raja was the debut movie of the actress ‘Divya Bharti’.  The film revolved around the story of Raja and Rani, who falls for each other but had to go through a lot of difficulties. The film was a major hit and had a rating of 6.8 on IMDb.

After that, Suresh went ahead to produce another Telugu movie in the year 1991, “Coolie No.1”. In this film, ‘Tabu’ was cast opposite Venkatesh. Tabu made her film debut with this movie. Most of the films produced by Suresh Babu starred his brother, Venkatesh in the lead role. Suresh Babu worked as a producer of various films including “Super Police”, “Ganesh”, “Jayam Manade Raa”, “Malliswari” and many more. “Kalisundam Raa”, one of the films to which he was a producer, was also remade in Hindi titled, “Kuch Tum Kaho Kuch Hum Kahein”.

Suresh had also produced Telugu films which are a remake of Bollywood movies including “Masala”, “Gopala Gopala”, and “Drushyam”. Drushyam was a remake of the Malayalam movie “Drishyam” which starred ‘Mohanlal’. Suresh had also worked as a presenter of movies including “Eega”, “Golconda High School”, “Uyyala Jampala” and many others. Suresh recently worked as an actor in ‘Tony D Souza’ directed movie, “Azhar”, which focused on the life of a famous cricketer, ‘Mohammad Azharuddin’.

Movies produced by him also won several accolades including Nandi Award, National Film Award, and TV9 Film Award. Suresh is the owner of the production company which was started by his father named, Suresh Productions. This production company also made a Guinness World Records for producing more than 150 films. Suresh is married to Lakshmi Daggubati, and they are the proud parents of ‘Rana Daggubati’, Mallavika Daggubati, and Abhiram Daggubati.

Daggubati Suresh Babu is an Indian Film producer, distributor, studio owner and managing director of the Suresh Production. He was born on December 24 in Andhra Pradesh, India. He also played the role of President of AP Film Chamber of Commerce for the year 2011-2012. He won ‘Nandi Awards' for the movies of Ganesha, Kalisundam Raa, Neeku Nenu Naaku Nuvvu, and Malliswari. Also won TSR-TV9 National Film Award for ‘Drushyam' in the year 2015 in the category of ‘Best Film.’
