Plot
Krish is a pianist who disguises himself as a visually challenged person to earn decent money and a name. His music impresses actor Karthik, who wants to give a musical treat to his wife Simi by inviting Krish to his home. When Krish visits Karthik’s house, he finds him dead and he understands that Simi and her lover Kani murdered Karthik and are trying to cover up the murder. Thinking that Krish as a visually challenged person, they behave as if nothing has happened. When Krish comes to know that Kani is a cop, bad time starts following Krish. In a situation, Simi finds out the truth that Krish is not a visually challenged person. What will she do next? Will Kani and Simi plan for another murder? The rest of the film has answers for these.
Star Performance
Prashanth has given his best. His performance as a visually challenged person is excellent. The scenes where he tries to escape from Simran and Samuthirakani’s vision are fantastically made with his performance. Though Karthik appears very minimal on screen, he has done a good job. Simran is good as usual and gives a tough to Tabu’s performance in the original. Urvashi and Yogi Babu have done a great job with their comedy galatta. Samuthirakani, Praiya Anand, and KS Ravikumar are good in their respective roles.
Analysis
Thiagarajan has taken a good script on his hand for his son and jumped in the arena himself. His direction is really appreciable. After the horror thriller Shock with Prashanth,

,” Thiragrajan will definitely get a good name for his direction in Andhangan. Though the film was released a couple of years later, it attracted the audience with the comedy and suspense elements. Simran, who had done a partially negative shade role in a couple of movies like Parthen Rasithen, has played an antagonist along with Samuthirakani. She is a perfect choice. Kudos to the team who picked her for this role. The music by Santhosh plays a good role in this film. Santhosh’s BGM in the scene when Prashanth finds about the murder is awesome. Some silence in the middle of the BGM adds thrill. The cinematography and editing are decent.

Andhagan is a perfect blend of black comedy and thrill. The direction, performance, music, and production values make the film a definitely one-time watch!
