Small Films Fighting A Huge Battle To Save The Sinking Kollywood

Looks like the small films have to bear the brunt of saving Kollywood again.

According to the recent reports, it is the small movies in Tamil cinema that are managing to get whatever revenue the industry is earning right now. Just recently, Soori’s film Maaman has surpassed M Sasikumar’s Tourist Family to become the most profitable film for Tamil cinema this year.

Made on a shoestring budget of 10 crores, Maaman has turned out to be superhit despite mixed reviews. The film has earned a gross total of more than 45 crores. With that, Kollywood is at the same trajectory like last year.

Even this year, not one major star has managed to lure the audiences to the box office big time.
