Meena Durairaj, popularly known as ‘Meena’ is an Indian actress, who acts in South Indian films. She was born on 16th September, 1976 in Chennai. She is also a dancer, singer and also hosts television shows. Her parents are ‘Durairaj’ who is Tamil and ‘Raj Mallika’ who is Malayali. She has been acting since 1982 when she started as a child artist. She has acted in a lot of different South Indian movies and in different languages like Tamil, Kannada, Telugu and Malayalam and even in Hindi movies. She studied in Vidyodhya schools in Chennai but only till class 8, because of her busy acting schedule. She went on to get a masters degree in ‘History’ from “University Of Madras” through an ‘Open University system’. She is a trained dancer and speaks in six different languages i.e. Tamil, Telugu, Hindi, Malayalam, Kannada and English. She has won the “Lalitha Kalanjali Award” for her role in ‘Chanti’ in 1992. She even bagged the best actress award for ‘Muthu’ in 1995 and three times ‘Filmfare, best actress award’. She also won the famous “Kalaimamani Awards” in 1998. Her recent award ‘Tsr Tv9- 2010 awards’ and ‘Ugadi Puraskaar Award -2011’ under special jury and “The Best actress”. Meena’s debut movie was “Nejangal” a tamil movie in 1982 as a child artist. Her film career as an actress started with “Seetharamaiah gari Manavaralu parallel” in Tamil too, with ‘Oru Puthiya Kathai’. She was highly recognized with her Telugu film Chanti . She was one of the biggest heroine of the South Indian film industry in the 1990s. Meena was married to a Software Engineer ‘ Vidyasagar’ on 12th june 2009 who lives in ‘Banglore’. The couple now has a daughter called Nainika, who was born on 1st January 2011 in Chennai.

Kausalya or better known as Nandini is a popular model and film and television actress, who predominantly appears in Tamil and Malayalam movies. She was born as Kavitha Shivashankar on December 30, 1979 in Bangalore, Karnataka in India to Shivasankaran and Poornima. She was working as a model and doing ad films when she was cast in Balachandra Menon’s Malayalam film, April 19 in the year 1996. She was starred along with Jagathy Sreekumar, Shanthi Krishna and the director himself; however, the film was a flop. She returned to doing ad films and went to Chennai for some modeling stints. The assistant of ace director, R. Balu, saw her photos, got interested in her and cast her in Kaalamellam Kadhal Vaazhga in 1997. This film marks her debut in the Tamil film industry. In the same year, Kausalya acted with Suresh Gopi in the Malayalam drama action film, Lelam. Later, she made a notable performance in the Tamil film, Pooveli in 1998, where she won her first Filmfare for Best Actress Award. She played as a young widow who needs to act as the wife of Karthik’s character in the film. In 1999, she was debuted in the Telugu film industry through the film, Panchadara Chilaka, with Srikanth playing as a college student opposite her character in the film. She continues to appear in Telugu and Tamil films including Alludu Garu Vacharu, Eazhaiyin Sirippil, Raja Kaliamman, James Pandu, Ilaiyavan, Kutty and a lot more. In 2001, Kausalya acted in the Malayalam film entitled Naranathu Thampuran along with Jeyaram in the lead role. Since then, she started to appear in many Malayam films including Karumadikuttan, Sundara Purushan, Shivam, Udayam, Maanikyan, Vajram, Sooryan and more. She also bagged three Kannada films in the year 2003. Kausalya took a hiatus for unknown reason in the year 2010 and made a comeback to Tamil films and played a crucial role in the masala film, Poojai, with Vishal and Shruti Haasan in the lead roles. She was last seen in the Malayalam film, Elanjikkavu PO. Besides acting in the big screen, Kausalya made her television debut on Sun TV’s Manaivi, helmed by C. J. Bhaskar. This was followed by Star Vijay’s Kanden Seethaiyai and Mega TV’s Dharmayudham. In 2010, she was also seen in Jaya TV’s Alaipayuthey and was starred in the Tamil soap, Akka in 2014. This year, Kausalya acted in Surya TV’s Spandhanam.

Priyamani is a talented actress of the Southern film industry. She received the prestigious National Award for her role in the Tamil film Paruthiveeran. Before entering into the film industry, Priyamani was doing modeling.    Born on June 4, 1984 in Bengaluru, Priyamani debuted into the film industry with the film Tamil flick Kangalal Kaidhu Sei. The film was a disaster at the box office and she shifted to Telugu and Malayalam films. Pellaina Kothalo is her debut Telugu film opposite Jagapati Babu. This film gained her the much-needed recognition and it was declared a super hit. She came to Tamil industry with a bang through the flick Paruthiveeran, sharing screen space with Karthi Sivakumar. Satyam was her first Malayalam film, but this film was not well received at the box office. In 2005 she made her screen presence in Balu Mahendra’s flick Adhu Oru Kana Kalam opposite Dhanush. Though this film was appreciated by critics, it bombed at the box office. Priyamani’s performance also received good response.    Alongside getting the National Award for her stellar performance in Paruthiveeran, Priyamani received State Film Award and South Filmfare Award. She also received an international award for this film. The 2007 Telugu flick Yamadonga was another successful film in her career. During the same year she had another hit in the form of the Tamil film Malaikottai. Thirakkatha is a Malayalam film in which she received critical appreciation. This film also fetched her Filmfare award.    Thotta, Arumugam, Classmates, Raam are some of the other Malayalam films in which Priyamani acted. The 2010 Malayalam flick Pranchiyettan and the Saint was a roaring success in her career. Maniratnam’s Raavanan, Ram Gopal Verma’s Raktha Charithra were the other films that she acted. Vishnuvardhana, her Kannada flick, was also a superhit. Kannada film Anna Bond of 2012 was a box office success. She worked in another venture in Bollywood (apart from Raavan) by doing an item number in Chennai Express, opposite Shahrukh Khan.    Priyamani knows many languages including Tamil, Malayalam, Telugu, Hindi and Kannada. She is the cousin of Bollywood siren Vidya Balan.
