Puthiya Niyamam is yet another successful film in the combination of Megastar ‘ Mammootty’ and lady superstar ‘Nayantara’. After the success of “ Bhaskar The Rascal”, the lead pair proved their successful combination with Puthiya Niyamam. They played the intermarried couple in the film directed by ‘A. K. Sajan’. Aju Varghese, Rachana Narayanankutty and Sheelu Abraham played the supporting roles. Mammooka played a lawyer and Nayan played a Kathakali artist.

Jacobinte Swargarajyam

Jacobinte Swargarajyam is one among the blockbuster hits of 2016. The real-life story of Jacob, a friend of Vineeth Sreenivasan had been filmed with Nivin Pauly, Renji Panicker, Sreenath Bhasi, ‘ Saikumar’ and Lakshmy Ramakrishnan. Besides directing, Vineeth played a cameo in the film. Initially, Renji’s role was offered to director Gautham Menon. Due to the floods in Chennai in 2015, the director was unable to attend the shooting in Dubai and hence Renji replaced him.


‘Leela’ is the directorial venture of Ranjith Balakrishnan. Biju Menon and Parvathy Nambiar played the lead roles. Portrayed the titular role Leela, Parvathy was appreciated by the critics and audiences for her performance. This is the first Mollywood film that was premiered online for the international viewers on the same day of release. The script was beautifully dealt by Priyan and Lalettan has performed extremely well. ‘ Samuthirakani’, Anusree, Vimala Raman and Nedumudi Venu played the supporting roles. Oppam is one of the top three highest grossing Malayalam movies with Rs. 61 Crore collection.

Puli Murugan

Puli Murugan is the superhit film by Mohanlal that also features Kamalinee Mukherjee, ‘ Prabhu’, Jagapati Babu, Suraj Venjaramoodu and ‘ Namitha’ in supporting roles. It is the high budget film of Mohanlal. The action entertainer directed by ‘ Vysakh’ is the first highest grosser of Malayalam cinema with Rs. 150 Crores collection. The film was also dubbed in Telugu as Manyam Puli and has been running in the Andhra and Telangana theaters successfully. Mohanlal played an Animal Trainer named Murugan.
