Sooraj Venjaramoodu was born on 30th June, 1976 in Kerala. He is an Indian actor, television presenter, and comedian. He has acted in over 250 films. His father is a retired soldier and, his mother is a housewife. Sooraj began his career as a stand-up comedian. He was successful in this and was most famous for his mockery of the Thiruvananthapuram accent. At first, when he started his acting career, he was not well- accepted by the audience.
His first movie was 'Jagapoga.' This film received a lot of bad reactions. Later, he started playing minor roles in movies as a Bus conductor, Rasika, and Rasathanthram. His role that got his attention was Thuruppugulam in 2006. Apart from that, he has appeared in many movies such as Hallo, Chotta Mumbai, Classmates, Pachakuthira, etc.
Throughout his acting career, Sooraj received many respectable awards, such as the Kerala State National film award in 2009, Best Comedian for Ivar Vivahitharayal. He won the same awards again in 2010 and 2013. Sooraj also won the National Award for his performance in Perariyathavar in the 61st National film awards. Sooraj is currently married to Supriya and, they are blessed with three children.
