Tovino Thomas has a whirlwind of a ride since 2023, when his survival drama 2018 turned out to be a blockbuster. Since then, the actor has starred in movies like Anweshippin Kandethum, Nadikkar, Ajayante Randam Moshanam, Identity, and L2 : Empuraan.

Except for Identity and Nadikkar, most of his movies have turned out to be successful. However, his last movie, L2 : Empuraan, didn’t turned out to be as successful as intended. Made on a budget much bigger than the original Lucifer, the movie broke the record for the highest grossing Malayalam movie worldwide. However, the tepid response in the domestic collections, courtesy its one-sided take on the Gujarat controversy, meant that the movie just managed to recover its basic costs, and nothing more.
