The film is about a son who works abroad and his ailing father who is stubborn. To take care of the father, the son sends an AI humanoid robot. After initial hesitance, the bond becomes more robust and emotional. It won the Kerala State film award for best actor, debut director, and art director.
4. Sudani From Nigeria -Malappuram Slang
Released in 2018its a sports drama film directed by Zachariah Mohammed. Soubin plays the lead role of Majeed. The story revolves around Majeed and his friend from the football team. The friend 'Samuel' is from Nigeria and faces an issue when his passport is stolen. Majeed helps his friend to go back to his native country. It won many awards, including the Filmfare Award South for best film and the FIPRESCI Award for best film.
