Madhumitha or Jangiri Madhumitha is a Tamil Serial and Film actress who was born on January 1, 1986 in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. She was first seen in the comedy series, Lollu Sabha on STAR Vijay. Later, she acted in a few films and television serials. She was first featured in the Tamil romantic-comedy film, Oru Kal Oru Kannadi under the direction of M. Rajesh. She was paired with actor, Santhanam and played the role of Jangiri.  Her performance in this film received appreciation by the viewers and made her popular. She even got the Vikatan Award for Best Actress in Comedy Role in 2012.

She also did the romantic film, Mirattal followed by a special appearance in the romantic-comedy film, Attakathi. In 2013, she played the role of Nimmi in Kan Pesum Vaarthaigal. In the same year, she did Sonna Puriyathu, Raja Rani and appeared as Baby in Gopul P S comedy film, Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara. Her comical role in this film was very impressive, sensitive but humorous for which she gained the Vikatan Award for Best Actress in Comedy role in 2013.

In 2014, she appeared as a female cop in the action-drama film, Jilla by R. T. Neason and made a cameo appearance with her role as Kongana Valli. Madhumitha became popular through television serials like Maama Maaple as Anushka, Pondatti Thevai as Nandhini, and Aththi Pookal as Banu, all under Sun TV channel. She is presently doing the role of Chitra in Sun TV’s Azhagi and as Kausalya in Madipakkam Madhavan on Kalaignar TV.

Because of her remarkable acting in potraying comedic and playing supporting roles, she was given a lot of film offers and some of her filmsinclude Muni 3: Ganga, Aakko, Machan, Enga Kaattula Mazhai and Nalanum Nandhiniyum. She also starred in the gangster action film, Anjaan that released on August 15, 2014.

Jangiri Madhumitha popularly known as Madhumitha is an Indian film actress who is active in Tamil films and tele serials. Madhumitha started her career with Vijay TV’s comedy series “Lollu Sabha”. Each episode was a spoof of a Tamil film or Tamil serial. Madhumitha’s acting was enthusiastic and charming.

Following the success, she ventured in the movie“Oru Kal Oru Kannadi” in which she paired opposite to Santhanam. It was a Tamil romantic comedy film directed by M Rajesh. Her character as Jangiri in the film made her popular. She also acted in Kan Pesum Vaarthaigal, a Tamil film directed by R Balaji. The film was shot in Chennai and Singapore with most of the filming taking place in Singapore.

In 2012, she was awarded the Vikatan Best Actress comedy role award for her performance in “Oru kal Oru Kannadi” and in 2013 she received the same award for her performance in “Idharkuthane Aasaipattai Balakumara”. She has also acted in some of the popular serials like ”Maama Maple”, ”Pondatti Thevai” and “Azhagi” aired on SUN TV. Some of her movies include “Akko” and “Machan”.

In 2014, she featured in films including “Tenaliraman” with “Vadivelu.” She got the SICA Best Actress in Comedy Role for Tenaliraman. In the same year, she played a supporting role with Vikram Prabhu and Sri Divya starrer Vellaikaara Durai. In 2015, she played in films including 1 Pandhu 4 Run 1 Wicket, “Mosakutty,” "Sivakarthikeyan" movie Kaaki Sattai, Raghava Lawrence starrer “Kanchana 2,” “Iridiyam,” Demonte Colony, “Strawberry,” "Vijay" movie “Puli” and Ladukkulla Boondhi Boondhi. In 2016, she played in “Narathan,” Hello Naan Pei Pesuren, Adra Machan Visilu, Ka Ka Ka Po, “Thirunaal,”Bayam Oru Payanam, Kadhal Kaalam, “Kaashmora” and Kavalai Vendam. Her 2017 movies are Aarambamey Attakasam, Saravanan Irukka Bayamaen, Yaanum Theeyavan, Keikraan Meikkiran, Konjam Konjam and Aangila Padam. In 2018, she played in Chiyaan Vikram movie “Sketch,” “Kaathadi,” “Paadam,” Iruttu Araiyil Murattu Kuththu, Pei Irukka Illaya, 60 Vayadu Maaniram, “Mohini,” “Ghajinikanth” and “Pattinapakkam.” She started her 2019 with a successful outing in “Viswasam” with Ajith Kumar. She was also seen in Kuppathu Raja with “G V Prakash Kumar,” “K 13” with “Arulnithi” and “100” with “Atharvaa.” She took part in Bigg Boss Tamil Season 3 hosted by Kamal Haasan.
