Kamal Haasan is the most versatile actor that India had ever witnessed. His innovative performances have been acclaimed worldwide. He is known for his passion for dance forms, action, and his enthusiasm for new concepts in movies. He is one of the most unforgettable actors in India. Born in 1954, Kamal Haasan has a never ending passion for Indian Cinema. He is still acting in movies. Though he belongs to Kollywood Industry his movies are much appreciated in Bollywood and Tollywood as well.

Just like any other actor, Kamal had to struggle for that one Break-through too. His first hit was through drama ‘Apoorva Raagangal’, in 1975. Haasan was appreciated across states for his exemplary performance in ‘Nayakan’ in 1987. This movie had shown the world, as to what a versatile actor would look like. Indian is another movie where Haasan played a dual role, without compromising on any role. For this role, he had to struggle a lot to get the right make-up and feel for action. Still Haasan gave his best. His best movie is ‘Dasavathaaram’ where he played 10 characters in a single film.

In a candid interview with Actress Jaya Prada, Kamal stated after working in a fantastic hit like ‘Sagara Sangamam’ (Telugu) in 1983, if we are still praising it and talking about it, then we should be revisiting our latest films. We should always be doing something to scale up what we have been always doing. This is the attitude that keeps him going now and in future.

He has two daughters ‘Shruti Haasan’ and ‘Akshara Haasan’. The elder one, Shruti is already being hailed as one of the top actresses in the South-Indian Industry. The younger one debuted recently in the Bollywood Industry with the movie ‘Shamitabh’ alongside the legend Amitabh Bachchan and South-Indian Superstar Dhanush.

Actor Kamal Haasan is indeed a legend. He has come a long way in attaining his status in stardom. For the superstar that he is today his achievement is no cakewalk. His films have earned name in the Oscars 7 times. Many fans and critics of Kamal Haasan say that he would have gone to even more heights if he had opted for the West. But the patriotic person as he is, he astonishes them by saying that India is his place and he would like to prove his mettle here itself with the kind of quality cinema that he works on. Right from Kalathur Kannamma, Kamal Haasan has been inspiring people. After 2000, Kamal has limited his movie appearances. Kamal played in “Vishwaraoopam 2” in 2018. After this film, he announced “Indian 2” with the director “S Shankar.” As an accident in the sets took the lives of three people, the shooting was postponed. Later, Kamal announced his next with Lokesh Kanagaraj. The film is titled Vikram with a lot of stars sharing the screen space. Vijay Sethupathi and Fahadh Faasil play important roles in the thriller with Kamal.

For the first time in history, Kamal started hosting Bigg Boss Tamil for Vijay TV in 2017. He hosts the show for five seasons, continuously. The first season started on 25^th July 2017. The fifth season started airing on Vijay TV on 3^rd October 2021. With his style and unique approach, Kamal made the show interesting.
