Another version of this story...

Actor Kamal Haasan is indeed a legend. He has come a long way in attaining his status in stardom. For the superstar that he is today his achievement is no cakewalk. He has had his own share of failures and some of his films didn’t do well at the box office. Also, whenever his films release it will be surrounded with controversies but he has braved all those aside. He takes great efforts in etching his films to perfection. Some films do well at the box office and some films fail. But, he is not deterred by failures and tries to bring on good films.

Kamal Haasan is indeed a phenomenon of Indian cinema and he has put in 60 years of hard work to attain this status he is basking-in today. He has ventured into many things that no other actor can dream about. But of late many actors consider him as an inspiration and try to follow his footsteps. Kamal Haasan has vast knowledge about cinema and it is no exaggeration to say that he breathes cinema. Apart from cinema he has deep insight into literature and history.

A drawback of Kamal haasan’s works is that sometimes his works may not be understandable by a normal man. To compensate for that he has even worked in full-fledged commercial films to please the masses. A feather in the cap of Kamal Haasan is that “Nayakan”, the film in which he acted was rated as one of the top 100 movies by Times Magazines. This is not all. His films have earned name in the Oscars 7 times. Many fans and critics of Kamal Haasan say that he would have gone to even more heights if he had opted for the West. But the patriotic person as he is, he astonishes them by saying that India is his place and he would like to prove his mettle here itself with the kind of quality cinema that he works on. Kamal Haasan….you are indeed a legend!

Vijay Tamil Actor

As they always say, "it runs in the blood", the same has been proven in Vijay Joseph's life. His dad is a very famous Tamil movie director, S. A. Chandrasekhar. Vijay's mother is a famous playback singer. He began his acting journey as a child artist in a film called "Vetri". He acted in many movies as a child artist supporting veteran heroes like Vijayakanth and Ajith Kumar. His career started as a leading hero with the movie, "Naalaiya Theerpu", in 1992. He won the "Cinema Express Award for New Face" for this movie. He then acted in many movies in the Tamil field, which has gained mixed responses from the audience and critics alike. During 2003, he signed a film by name of ‘Thirumalai’, where his co-star was Jyothika. This movie had shown him in a different angle from the trend and gained him immense popularity. Vijay's popularity and craze during his youth reached heights, starting in 2004, when he started focusing on remakes. He first started with ‘Ghilli’, which is a remake of the Telugu film, "Okkadu". This movie, ‘Ghilli’, completed more than 200 days in multiple theatres in Tamil Nadu. Trisha co-starred in this movie. In 2007, he came up with another remake of a Telugu film named "Pokiri", which is also its original name. It was a blockbuster in Telugu, which gained the same fame in Tamil. It was the 3rd top movie to collect the highest revenue in 2007. Again, there was a mixed trend after the huge series of successes in 2007. In 2009, he acted in a movie by name of ‘Vettaikaaran’, which was declared as the highest grossing Tamil film for the year 2009. This movie was made under AVM productions, a very well known production house. His recent hit list includes ‘Nanban’, which is a remake of the Bollywood movie, ‘3 Idiots’. This movie received positive reviews from all, including Kamal Haasan. Vijay's biggest hit in recent times is "Thuppakki", which is the first movie without Rajinikanth to enter the 1 billion INR club. It's estimated that the movie made more than 29 million USD. On the personal front, Vijay is married to Sangeetha Sornalingam, and has two children. He is personally keen about social welfare activities. He is recently honored with a doctorate for his services in Social Welfare. Another Version of this Bio... Vijay, the very outstanding Tamil actor, was born as Joseph Vijay Chandrasekhar. He is the Salman Khan of Kollywood. His name spells magic in the box office, and his movie posters draw crowds. He is known for his professional approach towards his work, and his willingness to go beyond expectation has made him an icon in Kollywood. He is always full of life and energetic in his attitude, which makes the energy around him very positive and full of happiness while shooting a film. He is the son of film producer, S. A. Chandrasekhar. His first onscreen appearance was for the film, ‘Vetri’, where he made a cameo. Later, in 1992, he made his debut in the lead role in 'Naalaiya Theerpu’. Due to his popularity in cinema, he has been chosen as the brand ambassador of many eminent brands such as Coca-Cola, Sunfeast, Jos Alukkas and Tata Docomo, to name a few. The actor even entered the Forbes India’s Celebrity 100 list in the year 2014, achieving the 41st position. He even left behind actor ‘Rajinikanth’ in the list. Although he witnessed a critical flop with ‘Puli’, recently in his career, the actor is still at the number one spot. He has consistently maintained a position in the box office and even Kamal Haasan or Rajinikanth could not beat this actor, which led to the actor eventually taking over the first spot. His upcoming movie, ‘Theri’, is awaiting release during Pongal, and hopefully, the actor will get another thunderous applause from the viewers. The actor has made history in the box office by releasing his super big films one after another, and his charisma has lasted for so many years! It is indeed difficult to tell how many movies of this star earned crores, but it is indeed a fact that his movies, over two decades, have scaled new heights in box office collections. Overseas too, his films have always fared remarkably well. The actor also entered the Rs 100 crore club in Kollywood with movies like “Thuppaki” and “Kaththi”. Rarely do we find a Tamil movie minting over Rs 100 crore. In the year 2010, he acted in his 50th film, ‘Sura’, and in 2016, his 60th movie (Untitled still) will be directed by Bharathan. As many as top eight directors were in the race to direct Vijay’s 60th movie, but ultimately, Vijay chose Bharathan for his 60th project. The actor has acted with Simran, Jyothika, Priyanka Chopra, and Asin, who were the leading ladies in his career. He has also transformed his action image (‘Thirumalai’, ‘Kuruvi’, ‘Villu’, ‘Velayudham’,’Thuppakki’, ‘Kaththi’, etc.) into a romantic image through many films (‘Kushi’, ‘Priyamanavale’, ‘Shahjahan’, ‘Friends’, ‘Youth’, etc.), which kept the box office registers ringing till the month-end. A decade before, actor Vijay had tough competition with three other biggies of Tamil Cinema, who were Vikram, Ajith, and Surya. Their movies would frequently clash on the same date at the box office. However today, while Ajith and Surya do face such expectations from the masses still, Vijay undoubtedly remains number one in the box office. The actor had teamed up with Siddique, Prabhu Deva, S. Shankar, A. R. Murugadoss, and M. Raja, among others, and ended up delivering box office hits, as always. He married Sangeetha Sornalingam on 25 August, 1999, and has two children- a son, Sanjay, and a daughter, Divya. The actor has engaged in many philanthropic activities in his state and has won many awards from the Tamil Nadu State government to the Vijay TV awards. The actor was born on June 22, 1974, in Chennai.
