Jessica Bendinger is an American screenwriter, a novelist, and a director. Born on November 10, 1966, she lives in Hollywood with her dogs. Bendinger’s screenwriting work includes ‘The Truth about Charlie’, which revolves around the life of a young woman, her husband’s mysterious deatha and the undiscovered truth. Her works which were not credited to her are ‘What a Girl Wants’ and ‘Freaky Friday’. Her contribution to the hit series of Mean Girls and Charlie’s Angels 2 was also not accredited to her. She has also contributed to the script of the famous teen movie Ghosts of Girlfriends Past and others like- ‘Hitch’, ‘Just like Heaven’, and ‘G-Force’. Her accomplishments have left a mark in the industry. She is a proud member of DGA and WGA and also inducted into the Academy of Motion Pictures Arts and Sciences (AMPAS) in July 2011.
Ever since she has entered the industry, she has attained great success and appreciations. Apart from her Billboard award nomination, she has many achievements to her name. Her shot to fame was with the movie Bring It On, based on the life of a champion cheerleading squad.
Her popularity is evident by the success of her films commercially. Her films have earned more than 500 Million Dollars worldwide. She ventured into directing in 2006 with the movie ‘Stick It’. Stick It was a big hit and had the highest average per-screen. It also topped the list of downloads on Apple’s iTunes for several weeks. In 2005, her name figured as one of the Most Powerful Women of Hollywood under the age of 40 in the Glamour Magazine’s list. Not only this, but she had also co-written season 4 of the series ‘Sex and the City’, which won the Emmy and Golden Globe award for the episode – “TIME AND PUNISHMENT”.
Jessica’s debut as a novelist was with “The Seven Rays”, which Simon & Schuster published in 2009. The story follows a 17-year old girl, Beth Michaels, who on her journey to self -discovery comes across supernatural components. Her original scripts for television The Seven Rays is undergoing work. Also, her other projects Clocked and Ladylike are under development.
Not only a novelist, but Jessica is also an enthusiastic songwriter and has co-written “Hurts to think” in Miranda Lambert’s Four the Records. She has also co-written “Mostly Grey” along with Emerson Hart and “Written in the Stars” with Meredith Meyer. In an interview given to a Canadian daily he said that her inspiration for songwriting has been her parents. Jessica’s creative streak did not stop there. She is currently working on a stage musical- PSYCHED, which deals with the world of mental disorders.
