Christian Stuart Mckay was born on 11 November 1973 in the Bury City of United Kingdom.

Mckay is the son of Stuart McKay, who is a railway officer, and Lynne McKay, who is a hairdresser by profession. He has one elder brother, Tony Gardner, and a younger sister, Karen Mckay. Stuart is married to Emily Allen, who is an actress by profession. The couple tied the knot in 2013.

The actor’s height is 6 feet ½ inches.

In his early years, McKay was a pianist. At the age of 21, he performed in the Sergei Rachmaninoffs’ (Russian pianist) Third Piano Concert. He is an alumnus of the Royal College of Music in the South Kensington City of London, United Kingdom.                                                  

After this, McKay enrolled into the RADA (Royal Academy of Dramatic Art) in London, England and graduated in 2011 with a degree in acting.

Mckay started his career in acting from 2004 onwards in the British film cinema.

His first major stage performance was in a play called Rosebud: The Lives of Orson Welles. This was a one-man play, in which he played the role of Orson Welles, (he was a famous American director). This play was staged at various venues in the UK, including the King’s Head and also at the Edinburgh Festival. 

Stuart’s first movie was the Abraham’s Point in 2008. In this film, he played the role of Robert.

His second flick was Me and Orson Welles in 2009. This movie was based on a novel of the same name by Robert Kaplow. He was in the lead role. In this film, he played the role of Orson Welles, who was a famous director-writer and an actor. The movie was a super success and made good money. The media, critics, and viewers applauded Christian for his powerful performance. The movie got a score of 73 out of 100 on the Metacritic.    It was for this movie that he received a nomination in almost all the major award functions which included, BAFTA for the Best Supporting Actor, National Society Critics Film Award for the Best Actor in a Supporting role, and TFCA Award for the Best Supporting Actor.

Other than movies, McKay has also worked for two TV shows, Borgia (2011) as Cardinal Sforza, and Jekyll and Hyde (2015) as Maxwell Utterson.

McKay is the writer and the co-director of the movie, Provenance. The movie is still in the making process.
