John David Logan is an American writer of plays, both for the stage and the silver screen. He is also a producer for film and television. He has written screenplays for movies like "Hugo,” "Rango,” "Skyfall,” " Jersey Boys Click to look into! >> Read More... ," and "Sceptre.” Alongside, he has also written the plays "Red" (2013), "I’ll Eat You Last- A Chat with Sue Mengers" (2013), "Never the Sinner" (1994) and "The Last Ship" (2014).
Born in San Diego on September 24, 1961, Logan, and his family immigrated to the USA through Canada. He is the youngest among the family of three children. He spent his childhood in California and New Jersey and graduated in 1983 from Northwestern University. Logan began his career as a playwright with "Never the Sinner.” His subsequent plays were "Hauptmann,” and "Riverview"(a musical with Chicago’s famous amusement park as background). His critically acclaimed play, "Red" (which dealt with the life of the artist Mark Rothko), premiered on Broadway in 2010. It received 6 Tony Awards, the most for any play, including Best Drama, Best Director for Michael Grandage and Best Actor for Eddie Redmayne.

Logan has received some awards and nominations for his productivity. He won a Golden Globe Award-Best Motion Picture-Musical or Comedy- for "Sweeney Todd", and the award for Best TV Adapted Writing (Writer’s Guild America) for "RKO 281.” He bagged an Academy Award and a BAFTA Award-Best Original Screenplay- nomination for "The Aviator" in 2004, and " Gladiator Click to look into! >> Read More...
