Born on January 5, 1987 in New Orleans, Louisiana, Jason Mitchell is an American actor. He is known for his role as Eazy-E in the film
Straight Outta Compton. Mitchell started out his career with the role 7-Eleven cashier in Texas Killing Hums in 2011. He also had a minor role as Walter in the film Contraband, which was released in 2012. The movie was a thriller film directed by
Baltasar Kormakur. The movie was again filmed in Icelandic, where Baltasar Kormakur played the lead role. He played another role as J-dog, in the film Dragon Eyes directed by
John Hyams. He was part of the gangster gang which fights with another gang and later on in the movie the two gangs are to be united to overthrow lawmen who mislead the gangs to advance their corrupt agenda. He later on appeared in a few roles in
Broken City and an episode of Major Crimes.
Jason Mitchell then starred in a biographical film, Straight Outta Compton in 2015. The movie was directed by F. Gary Gray and is about the rise and fall of the Compton, California hip-hop group N.W.A. The other actors of the movie are O’Shea Jackson, Jr.,

For his role as Easy-E, he won the Best Supporting Actor Award by the African-American Film Critics Association. He also won The Breakthrough Performer award at the Hamptons International Film Festival and the Hollywood Breakout Ensemble Award at the Hollywood Film Awards. Mitchell was also nominated for Outstanding Performance by a Cast in a Motion Picture along with others such as Neil Brown, Jr., Paul Giamatti,
Aldis Hodge and a few others. The movie itself was well-received by critics and was nominated for a number of awards and won quite a few.
After Straight Outta Compton, Mitchell is set to appear in the film, Vincent-N-Rox as Cordell. The movie is in post-production stage.
