Straight Outta Compton Trailers, Teasers & Video Songs

Straight Outta Compton is a biographical drama and narrates the ascension of the American hip hop group N. W. A. The movie gives us an inside view of the life of each of the artists and the struggles they faced as a minority in the city of Compton, California. The film describes the gritty details about the members, and offers an open and honest representation of what they faced. The trailer introduces each of the artists, Dr. Dre ‘The Genius’, Ice Cube ‘The Poet’, and Easy-E ‘The Hustler.’ In the start, we see Ice Cube arrested by the police just because of his skin color.

The movie goes in-depth about the oppression of the black men and the cruelty of the Police. The trailer proves the point in the scene where the members get harassed by the police, right in from of their manager without any viable reason. The portrayal of the anger and outrage felt by the characters, gives the audience a taste of the emotions experience by many black men. N. W. A’s lyrics were brutally honest, and their distaste for the police was explicit in their songs. Their group was the hub for many controversies as they advocated crime and drugs in their music.

They disbanded in the 90’s but most of its members went on to become accomplished artists in their own rights. The film has a R rating for the language, violence, drugs and nudity. But the movie got rave reviews for its outstanding screenplay, cinematography, and superb acting. The movie is engaging and gives us an understanding of the issues faced by black people and minorities in general.
