David Thornton

David Thornton, an American actor, is the son of Dr. Robert Donald Thornton, an international authority on the Scottish poet Robert Burns, who taught English at Harvard University for 45 years. Robert Burns was a Scottish poet and lyricist who was also known by the names of Rabbie Burns, Bard of Ayrshire and many other names and epithets. He was regarded as the national poet of Scotland and is worldwide famous. Patti LaBelle is the godmother of David's son, son-in-law of Fred and Catrine Lauper and brother-in -law of Elen and Fred Lauper. He graduated from Hamilton College and Yale Drama School, which is also known as YSD, which is a graduate professional school of Yale University providing training in various fields of the theater like acting, design, production and theater management. He also did his studies at Lee Strasberg's Actors' Studio. It is an Institute which focused on reaching a larger audience of eager and emerging talent. Thornton got married to Cyndi Lauper in November 1991. He met her for the first time on the set of the film "Off and Running". They have a son named Declyn Wallace Thorton. Even before becoming famous, he debuted at the age 20 in 1983 TV movie, sessions. He also had done many guest television roles, most notably making more than ten appearances on Law and Order.

He played different roles in films like Java Burn in 1988, Off and Running, Men of Respect in the year 1991, Mrs. Parker and the Vicious Circle after three years in 1994, continued with Jeffrey, Search and Destroy, which released in 1995. The next year he filmed three movies namely If Lucy Fell, Unhook the Stars, Breathing Room. He starred the films She's so lovely, Office Killer, Office Killer, Home Alone 3 in the year 1997. In 1998, he acted in 6 different films which included Too Tired to Die, High Art, Hush, Illuminata, The Last Days of Disco, A Civil Action and many films every year after that. He won "Jury Award " in 2009 and the "Best of the Fest" award in the year 2011. He became famous as the best actor in an American Indie Tamo i ovde in 2009. He is best known for "The Notebook" (2004), "John Q" (2002) and "Home Alone" 3 (1997).
