Corey Hawkins

Corey Hawkins is an American television actor. He was born as Corey Antonio Hawkins on October 22, 1988 in Washington, D.C. in the U.S. He was raised by his mother, who is a police officer. Corey studied at Duke Ellington School of the Arts and also attended the Juilliard School in New York City, where he completed a Bachelor of Fine Arts. He was a member of the Group 40 Drama Division at the Juilliard School and because of his brilliant skills in classical theatre, he was awarded the prestigious, John Houseman Award. Upon graduation, Corey initiated his acting career in Off-Broadway and donned guest starring roles on television.

In 2011, he played the role of a busboy in the medical drama series, Royal Pains. In the same year, he did a short film entitled Digital Antiquities. In 2012, he was seen as Willie in Michael Connors’ war film, Allegiance. His performance as Dr. Dre, one of the N.W.A members earned him recognitions and the Hollywood Breakout Ensemble Award in 2015. It was also in 2015 when he bagged the role of Heath in the zombie apocalypse horror drama series, The Walking Dead. He played as Houston Brooks, a geologist, in the recently released American monster film, Kong: Skull Island. Currently, Corey is doing the starring role as an ex-Army Ranger, who returned to America to stop the terrorist attack, in the serial drama series, 24: Legacy, a spin-off of Fox Network’s 24. Besides acting on television and films, he is actively working on stage too. His last performance was on John Guare’s Six Degrees of Separation, which was held at the Ethel Barrymore Theatre this year.
