The filmmaker got into the limelight in 2005 with The Exorcism of Emily Rose; it became one of his best works. He took birth in Denver, Colorado, the USA on 16th July 1966. He grew up in his hometown and graduated in Humanities from the Biola University.

He emphasized philosophy and literature during his studies. He did Master in Arts from the USC School of Cinematic Arts with an emphasis in film and theological studies. Scott married a Nurse in 1993, they both have two kids. In 1995, Scott worked on his first venture and released Love in the Ruins.

It became a super-hit both critically and commercially. Currently, Scott is working on a love story TV series under Blumhouse Productions; it is named ‘You Bury Me’ and will depict the war-torn Middle East in Turkey, Iraq, and Syria.
