Reginald Hudlin

Reginald Alan Hudlin is a famous Hollywood director who was born on 15 December 1961 in Missouri, United States to the couple Helen Hudlin and Warrington W. Hudlin. His house was located near the place of origin of rock and roll, the Cosmo Hall. In his teenage years, he started the Black Filmmakers Foundation along with his brother Warrington Hudlin in the year 1978. In the year 1983, Reginald got graduated from the Harvard University, and his main thesis paper was based on the award-winning "House Party" which was the first short film that was directed and produced later by Alan himself. Hudlin Bros was found together by the brothers who directed a lot of famous music videos for artists like The Boyz, Blue Magic, etc. 'World of Soul' sung by the artist Reggie was the first ever music video made by Hudlin.

From 1984 to the year 1985, the Illinois Arts Council supported the director as an artist in his early stages in Hollywood. 'House Party' which was a short movie was extended into a full-length film in the year 1990. It was an instant hit and was a much-talked motion picture during the 90s. It also grossed about twenty-seven million dollars at the box office and won several positive reviews from the audiences and also the Best Film Award at the Sundance Film Festival. "Bebe's Kids" which was released in the year 2000 was the first animated flick that was in American-African language. Later on, Reginald tried his hand in some television series like The Black Panther in 2010 who the first and only BLACK superhero till date, It's Black Entertainment, Dialogue with Black Filmmakers, 'America Beyond the Color Line' from 2003-2004.

"Cosmic Slop" was a popular HBO Tv series that got high reviews from the audience. Black Entertainment Network named Reginald as their president in the year 2005. Reginald wrote a novel " Birth of a Nation" along with Aaron McGruder, who directed The Boondocks. It got released in the year 2005. Reginald Hudlin got married to Chrisette Suter in the year 2002. The couple live together in California and are blessed with a beautiful daughter called Helena Grace.
