Jim Field Smith is a renowned English movie and television director, writer and producer. This talented personality was born on 20 February 1979 in United Kingdom. Known to the English film fraternity as someone who works relentlessly until a stable cinematic scene has been built on the movie frame, this personality started off his career by directing short films such as ”Goodbye to the Normals” (2006) followed by “Where Have I Been All Your Life?”(2007).
After this he took his first step towards a full-fledged Hollywood career and shot his full-length feature movie “She is Out of My League" starring Jay Baruchel and Alice Eve which got the backing of DreamWorks Productions. The movie could not become a hit but Smith’s direction was appreciated. “Butter” was one of the famous works of Smith.
Smith is not just involved in movies but has worked in some really popular sitcom dramas too including “Stag”, “Seasons”, “Deep Trouble”, “Fur TV” etc. He is also the co-founder cum owner of the Production Company Idiot Lamp Productions which has produced some TV series such as “Stag”.
Smith was also a member of the British Sketch Comedy Group Dutch Elm Conservatoire that got nominated for the coveted Perrier Award. Smith is known to be versatile in direction as he constantly switches between movies, TV series and TV Commercials. He has directed a string of TV commercials for some well-known brands such as Burger King, Daily Mirror, Boots, AOL, Virgin Atlantic etc.
