Verica worked as Scandal's co-executive producer from 2012 to 2018, and he returned to acting in "How to Get Away with Murder" in 2014, playing Sam Keating. His parents work in real estate. On his father's side, he is of Italian heritage, while on his mother's side, he is of Yugoslav descent. In 1987, he made his broadcast debut on the ABC daytime serial opera All My Children.
