The story follows the life of Princess Mia Thermopolis, who has recently graduated from Princeton University and is eligible to be crowned as the Queen of Genovia. This rank was until now held by her grandmother. However, this doesn’t go down well with Viscount Mabrey, who feels his nephew is entitled to the throne.
